Website, engineering calculator and CRM for construction
I built a digital system for a construction company from scratch: website, engineering calculator, custom CRM, Telegram bot and 1C accounting integration. Customers get a preliminary price close to the final one; managers get each enquiry with a ready estimate and a path to the proposal in one system.
Engineering calculation: from building parameters to an estimate
This is a preliminary building-cost model based on multiple inputs, not a price-per-square-metre form. The inputs pass through several connected stages:
- Starting parameters: region and building dimensions, frame type, number of spans and column spacing.
- Structure and specification: wall and roof material types and thicknesses, foundation, gates, windows and doors.
- Geometry: dimensions are used to calculate floor area, perimeter, wall and roof areas, building volume and clear span.
- Bill of quantities: the system creates line items for the frame, walls, roof, foundation and openings, with quantities, units and preliminary material and work costs.
- Complexity checks: unusual dimensions or configurations, an overhead crane, mezzanine and other special conditions are flagged for additional engineering review.
The result is a preliminary estimate for handling an enquiry and preparing a proposal. It is not construction-ready structural documentation or a substitute for a structural engineer's calculations. A manager reviews and adjusts the line items and cost; logistics are estimated separately.
The manager receives the enquiry with its inputs and preliminary estimate, ready to check the building options, refine the figures and prepare a proposal without entering the data again.
HOW IT WORKS / PICK A NODE
The visitor sets parameters
Picks the building type on the website and enters the inputs for the estimate.
The manager picks up the order
Refines the parameters, sees the deal status and checks the line items.
The estimate becomes a document
The module assembles line items, cost groups and the total. The manager decides on the final scope and price.
The team issues the proposal
The manager checks the terms, saves a PDF via the browser print dialog and chooses how to send it.
